Brief
A new TV show we are developing needs animated architectural scenes to show dynamic before and after transformations.
We partnered with Red House TV and Zac Monroe Architects to create a series of animated residential transformations for the Channel 4 series Inside Out Homes. The show aired in the autumn of 2016 and ran for a single season. The six-part series reveals how architect Zac Monro has transfigured ordinary houses into extraordinary homes by blurring the boundary between house and garden. Our animated before/after maquettes explore the ways considered design can transform unadventurous spaces into open-plan, desired models for living.
making
Meticulously timed animation to VO.
We worked to the show’s scripted voice-over and animated the transformation of each home meticulously and clearly. We created a 3d style to mimic the architects office, with each home being crafted from paper, card and plastic.
Result
Twelve 1-2 minute animations, one for each episode.
We produced 12 carefully crafted animation sequences to illustrate the sequences of the transformation of each home, as narrated and timed within the show’s script.
