brief
We need an industry defining film, for one of the biggest architectural competitions in the world.
HOK came to us in the spring of 2019 with a simple brief; to make the best architectural film the world has ever seen for a prestigious competition to design the world’s tallest tower. Their design centered not only around the obvious epic scale o the tower itself, but on a novel exterior public realm, involving a ceremony of rain every evening, a spin on the standard fountain feature.

making
4 minutes of CGI, 3 day green screen shoot and 15 killer images.
We pulled out all the stops on this one, writing a story and script for the film and then filming a 3-day green shoot with large set builds and use of motion-controlled cameras. The film helped define a new standard in architectural storytelling. We also produced 15 high-quality images for the submission and several cut-downs of the film.

results
A new benchmark in architectural storytelling.
The film was a huge success for HOK, being told they had the most emotive of all the entries. The film set a new standard for what the Saudi leadership expects from international competitions and we’ve continued to develop films of this caliber for the kingdom for a variety of clients.
Factory Fifteen’s film was the most emotive of all the entries, and I really loved the way the story was curated.
