brief
We invite you to speak and exhibit work for our annual immersive symposium.
Cocoon is a 360° x 220° spherical, immersive video installation we designed, directed, and produced in-house. Cocoon places the participants inside several shells of abstract and figurative architectural spaces, which slowly peel away. Cocoon believes architecture is not static, but is transitory, evolving and animated. Our city is our cocoon.
making
12 animated architectural skins.
We tasked everyone in the studio to design and animate one layer, each person having to pick up where the previous person had left off. It was interesting to see what effects were purely visual and what actually immersed or changed your perspective once inside the dome.
We wanted to create the feeling of being really small, within this ever changing metamorphosis of architectural forms.

An immersive architectural experiment.
Cocoon was exhibited at the SAT Immersion Experience Symposium in Montreal in May 2015.
The space really came alive in unexpecting ways and was a great addition to our event.
