We need a film to announce a new stadium we've designed for the Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup.
Populous came to us to create what became a remarkable benchmark in architectural filmmaking. The Populous design created quite a remarkable architectural transformation from tournament mode to legacy mode for the stadium, where the stadium turns into apartments with a central park. Our story focuses on a family living in the apartments, revealing the dad played in the tournament, using this as a narrative device to travel back and forth between past and present, as his young son, mimics his iconic goal celebrations in the park.

Filmed in spain over a week long shoot.
The film was shot on location in Spain in key areas that mimic the landscape design of the proposal. We also shot 2 drone shoots and filmed within the national football stadium with a full pitch of semi-professional players and 90 extras. The film was storyboarded, previsualized, edited and CG crafted in our studio in London.

The result was a very emotive, visually led film that communicated not only the design of the building in its two key states but how people live there.












After this film, we know who to turn to when we need to communicate architecture in a really humanistic and emotive way. This still remains the pinnacle film we have made with any visualisation partner.
