Brief
Leveraging the Motorsport DNA of the AMG brand
For the Las Vegas Grand Prix, we worked with Nexus Studios, Mercedes-Benz USA and Merkley+Partners to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience on the Sphere’s Exosphere. We drew on our extensive experience creating for this format to push the boundaries of what’s possible on Sphere, with this one-of-a-kind site-specific film.
Making
Four cars, four worlds.
Between four distinct environments, we pioneered an innovative 360° perspective environment designed to keep the focus sharply on each featured GT model, which includes the AMG GT 63, AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition, and AMG CONCEPT AMG GT XX. The result is a fluid, panoramic experience that gives audiences a dynamic, lifelike view with the north view car driving toward the audience while the south view car drives away. We deployed a custom camera rig. This rig links the rotation of the camera around the car to the 360° environment render, ensuring that when the view rotates, both the car and the scene match perfectly.
Result
A true perspective 360° 3D environment on the Sphere
Premiering for the three-day Vegas Formula 1 GP on the exosphere to worldwide audiences during the race and those lucky enough to attend in person. In addition, we also crafted three short social clips, highlighting in turn the high-performance parts found on the street editions: The AMG high-performance ceramic composite brakes, the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and the aerodynamic carbon fibre fixed wing.
Designing for the Sphere means treating the screen as architecture, not display. Every frame had to work from every viewpoint, so the craft became a dance between precision and illusion
