The Hyundai N 74. Retro futurism reborn!
Factory Fifteen crafted a fully 3D film inspired by the Hyundai N Vision 74, an icon of retro-futurism reborn. The film places the car in two contrasting worlds: an LED stage alive with graphic rhythm, and a nocturnal Korean highway. Each environment echoes the car’s bold visual language, amplifying its fusion of heritage and innovation.
This project was a non-commission, so we’d like to thank two of our long-standing partners: Rocksalt for their design and motion graphics, and Echoic Audio for their sound design and score.
Studio
An LED playground
Our first setting places the car inside an LED volume, where we tease its form through graphic pulses designed by Rocksalt and inspired directly by the vehicle’s own design language. The space comes alive with synth-pop lines, dashes, counters, and cubes, building in intensity until the car erupts into view in an epic burnout transition that propels us onto the streets.
City
An alternative 1980's Korea
For our driving sequence, we set out to create a city and highway that feel lifted from an alternate 1980s Korea, yet every detail is rooted in the car’s graphic DNA. Road textures, signage, and even structural compositions were all derived from the vehicle’s form language. To ensure seamless continuity between environments, we developed a hyperreal, synth-pop aesthetic that carries the film’s colour intensity from the LED stage straight onto the open road.
This car looks like its from another time, another planet. My job was to give it a home where it belongs, a settings inspired by its design innovation and heritage.
