15 YEARS OF FILMS

From architecture students to feature film directors, and everything in between; our journey into filmmaking has been anything but conventional. Unusual, eclectic, and nonconformist, it reflects the films we make: stories that weave together human experience, technology, politics, and urban development to create modern cultural fables.

OUR GENESIS

Where architecture met the silver screen.

Before we were a studio, we were three architecture students pushing the absolute boundaries of our discipline at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL). We realized that we could use the digital tools of architecture not just to design static buildings, but to construct living, breathing, speculative worlds on film. These three university thesis films laid the definitive foundation for Factory Fifteen, serving as our first bold experiments in blending complex spatial design with cinematic, human-driven storytelling.

Megalomania explores a dystopian cityscape caught in a state of infinite construction, translating architectural grandiosity into a haunting, immersive visual essay.

OUR CREATIVE FOUNDATION

Built on cinematic worlds.

At its core, Factory Fifteen has always been driven by a passion for cinematic storytelling and narrative world-building. Founded by architects who turned to filmmaking, we’ve used our unique understanding of space and design to craft visually rich, immersive films right from the start. Our journey began with a dedication to bringing original, high-concept stories to life, serving as a playground for us to test how deeply human stories collide with speculative futures.

Jonah is a striking blend of live-action and VFX exploring the commercialization and changing landscape of a small fishing village.
The Bug dives into a tense, psychological sci-fi world where human behavior clashes with a glitching reality.
With Ana, we crafted a slow-burning sci-fi narrative that captures the eerie friction between human labor and artificial intelligence.
Robot Scarecrow showcases our experimentation with embedding mechanical and speculative concepts into organic, real-world environments.

MOVING INTO ADVERTISING

Scaling up for global brands.

These original projects quickly put us on the map, proving our knack for building believable, large-scale environments and opening the door to the world of high-profile advertising. Global brands and creative agencies recognized that our distinct architectural perspective and narrative visual effects could inject something entirely fresh into commercial storytelling. Working on these massive stages sharpened our technical workflow and proved we could handle large-scale productions without losing our artistic soul.

Our campaign for the Tokyo Olympics captures the fast-paced, high-energy, and visually striking spirit of the global games.
Guinness Africa allowed us to bring a vibrant, stylistically rich, and culturally celebratory atmosphere to life on a massive scale.
We Play Strong delivers an empowering, dynamic campaign for UEFA that seamlessly blends athletic performance with contemporary visual storytelling.

THE LEAP TO LONG FORM FILM

From shorts to Netflix features.

The success, scale, and storytelling prowess we honed in the commercial world ultimately brought us full circle back to long-form narrative cinema, paving the way for our first feature film. Directed by our own co-founder Kibwe Tavares alongside the incredible Daniel Kaluuya, the Netflix sci-fi drama The Kitchen is the culmination of everything we’ve built over the last decade.

The Kitchen follows two residents navigating a dystopian near-future London where all social housing has been wiped out. Its striking look and social commentary were born directly out of the same architectural world-building and VFX craftsmanship that defined our very first short films.
For Noughts + Crosses, we leaned heavily into our architectural roots to design a massive, alternate-history London, bringing a striking and thought-provoking dystopian landscape to the screen.
We currently have to two other features in development and continue to create our own IP in an ever changing and more challenging world. Watch this space, our story continues...
